Life

Time for an update. I spent a week at Dustin’s like a week or 2 ago. We spent the week just hanging out in the apt, reading and wowing. Every night was a raid, so I got to see raids involving all his different groups, which was fun! I like watching raids :) Then the night before I left, we took a spontaneous trip to Chinatown for dinner. That was fun too! The restaurant was ok, but the highlight was my milk tea and bakery goodies! I love Chinatown. Can’t wait till next year when I can go all the time!

Had to leave Dustin’s earlier than I wanted to due to a job interview, which unfortunately I didn’t get because I only want a job for summer :( Since that is pretty much how every interview has gone, and the fact that nobody is hiring, I’ve just been hanging around the house. Long Island is starting to make me crazy, so hopefully I can get back into the city soon! Interaction with people other than family would be nice, and unfortunately most of my friends live in the city or areas other than the island =/

On the plus side, we got an apartment for next year. It’s in a great place and it’s a cute little apartment, so when we move in, I will probably tell more about it. Hopefully we’ll be moving in in early August, I can’t wait!

Party Time!

So I spent a week relaxing and unpacking school stuff after graduation, and then Sat was my grad party! Dustin and Justin came, and we had sooo much fun! Justin brought me an itunes gift card, which will be perfect for downloading songs that I can sing with my karaoke game :) and Dustin brought me Big Yoshi and a mini yoshi!! Soo cute! I had wanted that Yoshi so bad, and now he’s mine! :D We had some fun playing around with those for a while until bunch of family people showed up, but overall, we pretty much spent the whole time laughing and having a good time!

Then Justin was sweet enough to drive back to my house so we could drop off food and presents and gather food and my bags to go back to the city! They also met my Oreo, who I think Justin loves :) Then we navigated our way back to the apartment, which I was very proud of!

The next few days were spent watching tennis, wowing, and ds gaming. They were great and relaxing! Then on Thurs we went apartment hunting. We looked at about 6 in one complex. Great location, etc. so we’ll see what happens! Depending, more details will come later about the apartment. We did a ton of walking, but had Ollies for lunch! I looove their food. And of course, I had to get a milk tea to go due to the withdrawal I was going through ;)

Now it’s back to job hunting and more unpacking until my next trip in!

I graduated!

Title says it all…

Ceremony was nice - hot and long, but nice. Saw some of my friends for what will be the last time I’m sure, so that was sad. Got to see a few people I wasn’t expecting to see, so that was great.

And, because I was wearing that ugly red cap and gown, I didn’t burn and get that lobster red sun burn that everyone in the audience got! Yay!

wow progress update

Posted on May 21st, 2009 in Miscellaneous by Dustin

so lets see.

25 man - whole place clear, 2 tower for flame levi. Starting hardmodes this week I believe.

10 man - 3 tower flame levi, iron council, thorim, hodir, frey+2, and vez are down.

This leaves us with mimiron, freya +3 and yogg to do in hard modes.

I probably forgot a boss or 2 in there somewhere.

Anyways, pretty much have holy/disc pve specs right now and the little time that I do pvp i respec:(

holy is more so for 10 mans and disc for 25s except for select fights where I swap due to it being the clear winner.

Gear so far has not been a problem since if i were gearing either I would gem for all regen for both specs.

I’m done!!

I never have to take an undergrad class or science class ever again!!! Finished finals yesterday, and for the most part, they were pretty good. Graduation is on Friday and then I will be done with Stony forever!!!

I spent the first part of finals week in the city with Dustin studying. We ordered Dominoes on Monday and bacon pizza is absolutely amazing! Then Tuesday I met up with a new NYU friend and we explored the area for the day, so that was fun. Then Tues night we did burgers, which I think are becoming our new favorite! And had pudding to celebrate Dustin’s last day of classes ever! Then Wed I got to relax and destress before heading home and back to Stony for the first final.

And now, I’m waiting to see if I get a summer job that hopefully gives me a discount for all the stuff I need to buy for the apartment. And getting ridiculously excited for next year! :)

Cityness

Posted on May 6th, 2009 in Miscellaneous by Sheryl

Last weekend was a long city weekend! Lots of chinese food! It was amazing!

Thursday night we went to Ollie’s and had some amazing shrimp w/cashews and chicken w/garlic sauce, and an egg roll! Then Friday night we went to Chinatown and had the delicious shrimp w/mayo sauce/broccoli/walnuts, chicken casserole, and steak. Amazing. They gave us these yummy pickle things as appetizer and the red bean soup desert that I like! Chinatown restaurants are great :)

Saturday I cooked up a new potato concoction from my cooking magazine. It wasn’t as amazing as the picture looked. I blame my julienne potato peeler and the lack of my ability to cut potatos into potato chip thinness. Sunday we cooked up pancakes and bacon, and the pancakes weren’t too bad! Then I made fried flounder for dinner, which was pretty good. Did lots of cooking, which is nice. Good practice for next year!

Then Monday we got Mcdonald’s bacon, egg, and cheese biscuits for breakfast before I had to take the train back to Stony. That was the last time I had to do that trip, so yayyy! From now on, the trip will be much shorter and less annoying since I won’t have to wait at the station for extended periods of time and there will be no transfers.

Other than food, the weekend was lots of relaxing, wow, and some crossword puzzles. Oh, and Slumdog Millionaire, which wasn’t bad, but not Oscarworthy in my book. But not bad overall.

I have a fall schedule!

Posted on April 29th, 2009 in Miscellaneous by Sheryl

I signed up for classes tonight for next fall! I was waiting for the registration email all month, and it came in about 12:15, so I signed up then! I have field work 3 days, hopefully monday, wed, fri. Then I scheduled my classes for tues and thurs. I start late and end early, so it’s perfect. I’m taking social work practice, social welfare programs and policies, human behavior in social environment, and ethnocultural issues. They all sound pretty interesting, so now next thing I’m waiting for is my field placement. This is exciting!

10 man update #2

Posted on April 25th, 2009 in Miscellaneous by Dustin

at least i think it is 2…

Mr Yogg is down ! not very difficult unfortunately.

Vez was more of a pain. The fight was at least not boring with tentacles slapping you around and picking you up.

25 man is up to Vez and he and yogg should go down tomorrow hopefully.

Iron council hard mode is left before the reset. We had 2 attempts on him getting the big guy to about 7% he should go down fairly easily tomorrow.

I started to play arena 2s with a guildmate and we are 31-31 becuase we are horrid !

my not so productive friday

Posted on April 24th, 2009 in Miscellaneous by Dustin

Today is friday the day I would finish my psych paper.

Instead I got bored and made a spreadsheet for some talent configurations

I came up with a spec reflecting my role in raids (25 man more so) which I only use flash heal to prepare gain haste for a poh pretty. (The heal is often overheal on every cast as well due to people also healing)

that is all :(
